About Melissa (Mel)

I am 23 Years old and from the Isle of Lewis in Scotland. I am probably at my happiest when i am rambling about the hills that surround my home and when swimming in the nearby lochs (Scottish Gaelic for lakes!) My favourite quote has to be from the Bible in Jeremiah chapter 29 V 11 For I know the plans i have for you declares the lord. Plans to prosper you, not to harm you. Plans to give you a hope & a future. I am a Graduate who has just come out of University and in to my first proper job. When it comes to work, Marketing is my Passion and my love, but online learning is something i have always had an interest in and so this concept was not only new to me, but interesting too!

Fighting Temptation

Fighting Temptation

We have all done it. You feel that urge for something sweet and then once you open the packet, you find you just cannot stop. The feelings of fullness are not even enough to stop you from putting the pack away and then before you know it you have eaten it all! The more I look in to it, the more one phrase specifically comes up as being key to overcoming this challenge: self-discipline. Therefore, if you are like me and you are not good — Read more →

Gift of Giving

Gift of Giving

Boxing Day is one of those obscure holidays that we take and appreciate, but maybe do not think about so often. So, what is it all about and where did it originate from? One idea is thought to be that servants used to get the day after Christmas off to see their families and they were also given a gift box from their masters. Therefore, Boxing Day holds a nice message that maybe we are not so focused upon. It presents to us an opportunity — Read more →

Distractions

Distractions

Distractions. They are everywhere and come in many forms. On the TV when you are trying to watch your favourite programme and of course in the office when you are working. Weight Loss for the Wise

Weight Loss for the Wise

I’m a big fan of words, but even for me there are some that I have no time for.mensclub24 One of these words is diet in the context of weight loss. I prefer the term of “having a healthy diet” which can contribute to weight loss. So, I am sure you can imagine how much my blood boils when I hear the phrase “I am going on a diet” or “I am on a diet”. A lot of this annoyance is because these words are — Read more →
